All therapy continues to be remote, no face to face appointments available (Updated 2024)

Online Counselling and therapy

Online therapy, also known as e-therapy, e-counseling, teletherapy, or cyber-counseling, is the provision of mental health services and support over the internet for example with, video conferencing or online chat. Online and remote therapy are becoming extremely popular worldwide. In the United Kingdom it is likely to remain common practice in the coming years.  This is similar to face-to-face therapy and clients have found it easy to do and similar to coming to a therapy room. Often people comment on the benefits of not having to commute to the therapy location. We can have the same content as we would within a therapy room.

What to expect?

Following booking an appointment, I will send you a link to Zoom, you do not need to have an account to join the Zoom session. You click the link a few minutes before the session and consent to using your camera and audio.  Alternatively, some individuals may choose to use Whatsapp, Doxy, Skype or EMDR specific websites.  I also offer telephone therapy.

As we will not meet in person, we will often exchange questionnaires or therapy materials via email.

Similar to face-to-face weekly sessions, as a psychologist I would be assessing your ability to keep yourself safe between sessions. We will discuss risk and risk management plans.

All the forms of therapy discussed on this website are suitable for online therapy.

Low Cost Online Therapy

I currently work with a counsellor Amanda, who provides lower cost online therapy. Sessions are £50 and Amanda is offering an introductory rate of £40 for the remainder of 2024.

Amanda Cook

As a relational integrative counsellor, my primary role is to reflect your true nature, creating a genuine therapeutic experience. I am committed to providing a safe space that facilitates the integration of your emotions and experiences, while simultaneously building a strong foundation within you. Trauma often underlies much of our suffering, and my approach is rooted in trauma-informed care. Through guided visualizations, bodywork, and breath meditations, we work together to create a sense of safety and connection to your body. This gradual process, paced according to your comfort, equips you with tools for everyday grounding.

My work is somatic, intuitive, and authentic. I share my felt-sense of the moment as a way to gently illuminate what may be stirring within you, creating an environment where you can trust me with your truth.

I welcome individuals with various needs and backgrounds, whether you come with a clear goal or feel lost and confused. My approach is grounded in embodied presence and the provision of a secure container.

Feel free to get in touch via the email address above. I look forward to hearing from you and being part of your healing journey.
